Everything changed (or not) when the Satellite attacked!
After an exciting season 3, Call of Duty: Warzone’s season four update is now live with several changes which include the destruction of some part of the map along with some nerfing of weapons.
Cosmetic and Thematic Changes After Impact Shakes up the Warzone
Before we start briefing you about the new changes in COD Warzone, don’t forget what happened: a satellite crash-landed on the map taking out several of the map’s areas. The trailer of season 4 introduced players with this crash landing satellite on Verdansk which left debris all around the crash site.
However, there aren’t really that many changes to the new area beside fallen debris and destroyed pieces of the satellite. As for the 80s iconic Nakatomi building, it still remains intact but it got a new name, changing to ‘Downtown Tower’.
The ‘Real’ CoD Changes: New Weapons Means New Nerfs.
The new season also comes with new weapons; a C58 assault rifle and an MG82 light machine gun. Both of these new weapons are unlocked via the Battle Pass. There’s another new weapon that goes by the name nail gun, which players can unlock by completing challenges or by buying it outright.
However, with a new patch in place, the MG82 has already been nerfed after an outcry on social media by the players. The weapon was quite overpowering when it came to medium-range, even the ground loot version was a bit too much to handle. So, Raven Software listened and nerfed the MG82’s range as well as its damage output.
The New and Suitably Nerfed MG82 is Ready for the Warzone
Let’s hop into the details about MG82’s nerf: the maximum damage got decreased from 30 to 29. Simultaneously the minimum damage MG82 will inflict got decreased a notch from 28 to 27. The headshot damage multiplier also decreased from 1.3 to 1.2, chest multiplier decreased from 1.1 to 1.
If that wasn’t enough for the MG82, the horizontal and vertical recoil also got an increase.
The notes also read that the studio is “keeping a close eye” on the Nail Gun. The Nail Gun has come under fire for killing an opponent with one bullet far easier than it probably should. This means that there is likely an update in line for the Nail Gun too and we may see some tweaks in Nail Gun’s working.
Other Weapon Tweaks From the CoD Patch Notes
Several other weapons also experienced changes, especially the submachine guns. The patch notes details changes made to KSP45, the Milano 821, and several other weapons. All of which got an increase in damage capability and some other buffs.
As for Assault rifles, Raven Software reduced the base damage for CR-56 AMX on the torso area. For other rifles, the patch increased certain damage multipliers like the XM4.
There’s some buff made to melee weapons, melee players will love to read about: “Ballistic Knife (BOCW), Projectile Velocity increased by 25%, Neck Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.3, Upper Torso Damage Multiplier increased from 1 to 1.23, Move Speed increased by 1.3%.”
That’s all for now on the CoD Warzone Season 4 Tweaks and Twists. Stay tuned for news and updates on Call of Duty and other esports titles. Until next time.
